Details

Bollinger's NV Brut Special Cuvée, bearing the historic English spelling, reflects a legacy that spans over a century. Originally christened "Special Cuvée" in 1911 by the British agent of Georges Bollinger, this name was chosen to aptly convey the champagne's exceptional nature, as the term "non-vintage brut" couldn't do justice to its subtlety. Today, it continues to embody Bollinger's rich heritage and unparalleled expertise, consistently delivering a cuvée that epitomizes the House's signature style and quality. This champagne exhibits a distinctive golden hue, characteristic of black grape varieties, crowned by an effervescence of fine bubbles. On the nose, it boasts a captivating aromatic complexity, featuring ripe fruits and enticing spices, accompanied by delightful hints of roasted apples, compote, and succulent peaches. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious blend of structure, length, and vivacity, with bubbles akin to velvet. Notes of pear, brioche, and warm spices intermingle, while subtle undertones of fresh walnut add depth and intrigue to this exquisite Champagne.

Robert Parker - 92 Points

"Like its rosé counterpart, the latest release of Bollinger's NV Brut Special Cuvée is showing especially well, bursting from the glass with aromas of honeyed apples, crisp stone fruit, buttery pastry, ripe lemons and fresh walnuts. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vinous, with a deep core of beautifully ripe fruit, racy acids and a pillowy mousse, it's a charming, characterful wine that proves that Special Cuvée is firmly back where it belongs."

Antonio Galloni - 90 Points

"Pale yellow.  Toasty aromas of apple and pear nectar are complemented by hints of toffee, honey and orange zest.  Full and expansive on the palate, offering ripe orchard and pit fruit flavors and an undercurrent of smoky minerals and buttered toast.  Smooth and gently spicy on the clinging, nicely focusd finish."
